About Me

As the Chair of the Storyteller Foundation I see up close the tremendous need in our world for support for the under or misrepresented voices in our collective narrative. We have no time to lose to turn the unhealthy ship around and make a big difference. My life has always been impacted by story and particularly stories that lift us up and inspire us to be better together. Thank you for joining me here.

Join Our Team for Story Moves Us!

In honor of Story Summit Founder David Kirkpatrick’s Birthday, the official date for Story Moves Us is June 29th (“DPK Day!)” and we invite you to get out there walking on that day (or another day if that’s what you can do) to help inspire donations to The Rainbow Fund, creating scholarships for 20 women writers of African American, Latino, Asian, indigenous, or First Nation heritage to attend Her Spirit in December 2022 in Santa Fe.

When we lift up diverse women stories and storytellers we pave the path for change. It starts with us. And with story.

You don’t have to be a nonfiction writer to join our team, just a nonfiction lover! Whether it’s hard-hitting journalism, trenchant essays, books about human psychology or other social forces that fascinate you, let’s hear it for the truth!

And speaking of the truth, here are some excerpts from Storyteller Foundation Chairperson, Jane Sibbett’s wonderful letter on the subject:

We, as artists, have the honor to change the world with our art. We focus the words and the pictures of our souls’ work to make it kinder, healthier, stronger, and more united. We bring grace, harmony, and joy-fueled courage to continue living all our sweetest dreams.

We are at an apex of history to make a difference. We are tasked to co-create a better future.

True, that! And beautifully stated.

Join us to support diverse women and open doors, hearts and minds at Her Spirit 2022.

The truth is, there’s nothing like it. And we should know! We’re Team Nonfiction…

We’re going to cap our team at 25-30 to make sure we spread out support to the other teams. We’re rowing in the same direction!

Thank you let’s do this,

Pamela Weiss and Rebecca Bloom

Team Nonfiction Co-Captains

Since its inception in 2020, the Storyteller Foundation has provided scholarships to over one hundred emerging writers. The foundation supports voices that encourage, uplift, and educate, creating a more unified and sustainable world.

In the past two years, the foundation has provided specific help for writers who are working mothers, and writers who are cancer survivors.

Our 2022-2023 scholarship program provides mentorships to emerging writers in the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled sectors. Mentorship occurs online, in person, and through onsite retreats.
